dc.description.abstractThe purpose of study was to establish how health workers performance affects health service delivery in Nakasongola District. The study objectives included establishing the state of employee performance and to find out the state of health service delivery and the third objective was to find out the relationship between employee performance and health service delivery, The study was conducted in Nakasongola health center iv, where data was collected from clients and the employees of the health center who were 80 in number who provided information through the research questionnaires, the study employed correlation research designs where the data was analyzed using descriptive statistics of mean and standard deviation and then after using Pearson correlation coefficient to determine relationship between employee performance and health service delivery. The study findings on the first objective revealed that employee performance was low. The study findings are justified by the poor rate according to the mean of 2.276, SD=.$92 interpreted as poor. The study results revealed that the health services delivery was poor at 2.504, SD= 0.802. The study findings on the third objective revealed a significant negative relationship between employee performance and health service delivery in Nakasongola district (r~ -275). Furthermore chi—square test suggest that retention had significant influence on efficiency, motivation had a significant effect with quality and accessibility. The study concludes that improved working conditions, accountability and retentions could have a high bearing on employee performance in the health centers, the state of health service delivery in health centers was considerably low and that low performance levels of workers negatively affect health service delivery. The study recommends for improvement in the motivation in terms of payments, therefore improvement of the state of workforce efficiency by establishing a strong working environment for the workers. The study also recommends that the health service delivery need to be improved through improving accessibility, the quality of health care through purchase of tools and equipment required in the health centers and finally government strengthen social service accessibility for improving the functionality employees for improved health services.en_US
