Abstract
The study was concerned with appraisal of resources for the implementation of free primary education programme in selected Public primary schools in MasingaDivision Masinga District in Kenya” the study was guided by three objectives; establishing the profile of the respondents, the level of resources for implementing FPE, establishing the relationship between the level of resources in urban and rural primary schools. Using descriptive survey research design, the study employed a sample of 142 respondents. The study found out that the level of resources for implementing free primary education is satisfactory. The study further found out that the level of resources in urban primary schools is higher than in rural schools. The study suggested that there should be an increase in the number of human resources in the region and that physical resources also be boosted in the region so as to effectively implement FPE programme. Further research should also be done on the availability of learning resources and the performance of pupils in FPE schools in Masinga sub region, Kenya
