The study was to assess the effects of feeding among pregnant mothers on babies’ health in selected health centres in Kampala district. It was guided by three specific objectives, which included; i) to identify the causes of poor feeding among pregnant mothers. ii) To examine the consequences of poor feeding among pregnant mothers, and iii) to establish strategies to improve babies’ in selected health centers of Kampala District. The study used a descriptive correlation design that use both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection. The research tools that was used in the study included the following: (1) face sheet to gather data on the demographic information (gender, age, marital status and educational level) (2) researcher devised questionnaires to determine the causes, consequences and strategies to improve babies’ health. The response modes and scoring were as follows 1); strongly disagree (2); disagree (3); agree (4); strongly agree, interviews were the other data collection technique that were used by the Researcher. The findings indicated that most respondents (60%) were females who conceive, aged between 15-20 years (3 8%), majority were primaries and 66% married. The cause of poor feeding was generally high with a mean of 3.40375 which indicated that most of respondents agreed. The consequences of poor feeding were (average mean3.1435) they strongly agreed, on preventative strategies, it indicated low on average with a mean of 2.0373. And also indicated a positive-e significant relationship between the causes and consequences of poor feeding among pregnant mothers (r0.983, sig. =0.000) that if a mother has been neglected by her husband and her income is low especially during pregnancy, she’s more likely to experience the consequences of poor feeding hence affecting the baby in the womb. From the findings and the conclusions of the study, the researcher recommends (i) there is need to continue sensitizing the mothers on the types of food they should feed on during pregnancy (ii)There is need to uplift the educational level of mothers since most of the respondents were primaries, (iii) There is a need to make follow ups on the pregnant mothers on proper feeding iv) There is a need to sensitize fathers on how to feed their wives during pregnancy,(v) There is a need to grow more plenty of foods so that pregnant mothers can feed on them due to insufficient quantities of food, vi) There is a need to employ pregnant mothers and to increase on their low wages so that they are able to take care of themselves and vii)There is a need to sensitize men not to neglect their wives during pregnancy especially those who are not working.en_US
