This study was to establish the effect of strategic planning on success of corporate social responsibility education projects of Stanbic Bank Uganda. Three specific objectives were set out to be achieved namely; 1) To establish the relationship between vision and mission establishment on success of education projects of Stanbic Bank, Kampala Uganda; 2) To establish the relationship between plan documentation and formality of planning and success of education projects of Stanbic Bank, Kampala Uganda; and 3) To establish the relationship between plan implementation and success of education projects of Stanbic Bank, Kampala Uganda. The study employed a case study with a descriptive correlational survey design. Through purposive and systematic random sampling techniques, the researcher sampled 154 staff of Stanbic bank involved in the planning, management and implementation of the various projects of this bank, implemented between 2019 and 2020. The data collected was analyzed using frequency counts, means and standard deviations, Pearson’s Linear Correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression. The study findings revealed that; 1) Strategic vision and mission establishment practices of Stanbic were effective (overall mean = 2.83; SD = .485), positively and significantly correlated with project success (r = 0.623; sig. = 0.000); 2) Plan documentation practices of Stanbic were also effective (average mean = 2.73; SD = 0.404), positively and significantly correlated with project success (r = 0.767; sig. = 0.000); and 3) Plan implementation practices of the bank were effective (average mean = 2.70; SD = 0.354) and also positively and significantly correlated with project success (r = 0.387; sig. = 0.004). The researcher concluded that effective strategic planning activities (in terms of strategic planning direction establishment, strategic plan documentation and strategic plan implementation) can strongly increase success of education projects in Stanbic bank. It was recommended that for management to increase success of education project, management should; develop an effective system to monitor, record and track all the strategic direction establishment activities, document the strategic planning activities and an effective implementation system.en_US
