Abstract
The study was carried out to know the impact of training on employee performance at Century
bottling company in Namanve. The researcher used the following objectives of research on his
search for relevant information. To find out the different training methods used by century
bottling company (Namanve Branch),to establish the relationship between training and
perfonnance among employees CBC-Namanve Branch and to know the challenges encountered
during the training for perfonnance of employees at century bottling company Namanve branch.
The problem in question for conducting the research was that though much was put in to ensure
training of employees in century bottling company, the performance of employees was stilfpoor
,and so the researcher was prompted to find out why or whether there is an effect of training on
the perfonnance of employees at century bottling company Namanve. Data was collected using
questioners, observations and documentary reviews as the instruments. These instmments helped
me to get reliable data from employees, conveniently and without very tight supervision.
It was found out that in CBC, on the job training methods are the most prefenĀ·ed to off the job
training .In other words, delegation, occupational counseling, confidence building and career
development are some of those that arc used in the organization. This one plays a very vital role
in training and grooming employees who hence brings about an improvement in Performance. I The Company also faces some challenges while conducting training. For example, the resistance
from employees, time constraints among others.
Training affects perfonnance mainly in a positive way in that employees are able to attain the
required skills for them to perfonn batter; they are also exposed to new techniques that are
prevailing due to globalization and developments that take place.
Therefore I recommend that CBC Namanve intensifies on the training given to their employees
and also ensures that the best training techniques are used in order to improve on the
performance of employees in the company.
