dc.description.abstractThe research topic was chosen because most private and public sector industries do not believe that safety policy can enhance employees' effectiveness and performance in work place. The research topic was to examine the impact of ergonomic policy on employee's effectiveness in Mumias Sugar Company (K) Ltd Specific objectives were used to assess the effects of safety communication on employee effectiveness at Mumias Sugar Company (K) Ltd, to investigate the . effects of safety training on employee effectiveness at Mumias Sugar Company (K) Ltd, and to evaluate the effects of safety measures/precautions on employee's effectiveness at Mumias Sugar Company (K) Ltd. The data was collected using the following methods: research design, research site, study population, sample size techniques and the research instrnments. The research instrnments used were; Questionnaires were used in most cases together with others instrnments such as, Observation and interviews. The data obtained was analyzed and presented in tabular fonn showing the percentage and frequencies based on the analyzed info1mation, photographs were also taken to back up the evidence. These provided a clear meaning and therefore easy understanding of the data presented. Summaries were also drawn and conclusions made from presented analyzed data. The result revealed that safety policy is a very significant aspect at Murnias Sugar Company (K) Ltd though it was taken for granted by management. However, for an industry such as Mumias Sugar Company (K) Ltd to perform effectively as required, management has to ensure that safety concern is highly prioritized.en_US
