Abstract
The purpose of the study was to investigate stress, coping strategies and students’ attitudes towards learning among university students. The objectives of the study were; to find out the relationship between stress and students’ attitudes towards learning, to examine the relationship between stress and coping strategies among university students and to investigate the relationship between coping strategies and students’ attitudes towards learning. In order to achieve these objectives, the researcher used a sample of one hundred respondents who were randomly selected. The findings of the study were; over 80% of the students, their attitudes towards learning were negatively affected by stress. Most students were in position to manage stress positively .therefore stress hard less effects towards students’ attitudes towards learning. 83%of the student’s hard positive coping strategies hence having positive attitudes towards learning. It finally recommended that; in order to help students not to get stressed, positively manage stress and to help them develop a positive attitudes towards learning, there is need to do the following: employ professional university counselors, lecturers should motivate learners student must be given courses of their choices, lecturers should use several teaching techniques, parents should provide social support to students among others.
