dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the study was to investigate relationship between teacher’s demographic characteristics (gender, age, experience, and education level)and adoption of ICT among the teachers in primary schools in Uasin Gishu County, Eldoret East District, Kenya. It was guided by six objectives, that is, to identify the demographic characteristics of the teachers, to examine the level of adoption of ICT among the teachers, to investigate whether there is a significant difference between gender and adoption of ICT, to examine the differences between teacher experience and adoption of ICT, to examine the relationship between age on adoption of ICT and to examine whether there are significant differences between teachers’ education and adoption of ICT among the teachers in primary schools in Uasin Gishu County, Eldoret East District, Kenya. The study used a quantitative, descriptive co-relational, comparative and cross-sectional survey design where a sample of 215 randomly selected teachers were used. The study found out that most teachers were female, married with diplomas and teaching experience of 6 – 10 years with high level of use of ICT. The finding also show that there exists a significant difference between gender and use of ICT, there exists a significant difference between teachers experience and use of ICT, there exists a significant negative relationship between age and use of ICT and that there exists a significant difference between teachers’ education and use of ICT among the teacher in primary schools in Uasin Gishu County, Eldoret East District, Kenya.  en_US
