dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this research was to assess the impact of Monitoring &Evaluation system towards efficient and effective performance of government projects in Rwanda.The specific objective of the research was to determine the profile of the respondents, the level of M &E system in regards to Efficient and Effective Performance of government Projects in Rwanda, level of Efficient and Effective Performance of government Projects in Rwanda and establish the significant relationship between M&E system and the level of Efficient and Effective Performance of government projects in Rwanda The research followed a descriptive correlation survey design. Primary data was collected using self administered questionnaires issued to the respondents. Data was collected using a sample size of 172 from a population of 300. Data analysis was done with the help of SPSS purposely to measure the relationship between M&E system and Efficient and Effective performance of government Projects in Rwanda The researcher used purposive sampling techniques to select the respondents in the Cepex and Ministry of infrastructure and Simple Random sampling in Minicofin The research finding reveals that the dependent variable which is R2 variations depends on Independent variable at the level of 0.293 or 29.2%. and at the significance level of 0.000 less than 0.005 which is maximum, this denotes a very crucial significant relationship between independent and dependent variables. The r value is at 0.541, significance at 0.000 indicating a significant correlation between M&E system and Efficient and Effective Performance of government projects in Rwanda. This declares a significant relationship between the two variables and consequently the null hypothesis rejected.Project managers, officers and program managers are recommended to plan and executed their day today activities bearing in minds the advises or recommendation for warded by M&E staff in M&E reports in order to achieve their preset objectiveen_US
