Abstract
This study vice of counterfeit products, critical evaluation of the applicability of consumer law and protection in Uganda was carried out in Uganda with specific aims of assessing the various laws and institutions mandated to protect consumers who are exposed to counterfeit products and at the same time, pointing out the weaknesses that are still existing within the laws and institutions in combating counterfeit. Despite the various steps that have been taken to curb counterfeit, this vice has persistently remained rampant and appalling in most Ugandan industries. Therefore, this report concluded that to write on counterfeit is a real way of helping the situation to be understood by Government, individuals of the society and lastly Non Governmental Organizations in bringing the vice of counterfeit to an end.
