| dc.description.abstract | The research analyzed the conflict situation in South Sudan; it stated that the conflict in south Sudan was between the Government of South Sudan Forces and the Forces loyal to former Vice President Riek Machar due to power struggles. The research further examined the civil war that happened before South Sudan obtained her independence. The main objective of the study was to examine the legal framework on protection of civilians' population in armed conflict. It also affected the effectiveness of law applicable to South Sudan. The applicability of international legal framework in South Sudan, notion of crimes against humanity, the national legal framework. It further analyzed the non-legal issues that arise of conflict situation and finally the research suggested possible recommendations and conclusions that can be useful in addressing the problem at hand. The research further stated that gross violation of human rights ranging from indiscriminate attacks against civilians for example sexual violence against women. The methodology adopted in the study was quantitative and qualitative strategies. | en_US |
