dc.description.abstractThe topic of the study was the effectiveness of Free Primary Education on Withdrawing Children from Child Labour. The study was carried out on selected schools in,. Kipipiri division Nyandarua District - Kenya. The purpose of the study was to examine the impact of learners' attitude and perfonnance of English Language. The study was guided by the following objectives; to examine the impact of learners' attitude on performance of English language, to establish the relationship between learners' attitude and Performance of English language and to examine the methods used in English language. The research findings indicated Proper teaching methods includes planning, teaching, collecting data, assessment and progress record keeping(English module 2002 prepared by the ministry of Education). If the learner is not acquainted with a variety of reference books, teaching aids, quality literature, his/her ability to reason critically may not be fully developed. According to W.Harman (1989) motivations of learners contribute to better performance. The research recommended that Going by the results of the study, the researcher makes the following recommendations: The ministry of education should ensure that teachers with long duration of service should be taken for refresher courses, the government through the ministry of education should regularly revise the curriculum to suit the different aptitudes of the learners, and the government should ensure that schools without adequate learning facilities are subsidized with funds.en_US
