Abstract
The researcher chose this topic of study simply because many organizations do not take strategic human resource planning seriously. This is most evident in the private companies whereby they do not see the reason of involving the employees in their in making the strategic decisions. Being that the SHRP is a new concept they do not see it as one of the reasons that affect the organizations performance. The topic of study was to tmderstand the concept of strategic human resource planning and its effects on performance in RCL. The specific objectives of the study were to examine the effects of management skill on organizational performance; to assess the effects of autocratic management style on organizational performance and to examine the effects of poor communication on organizational performance. The data collected was both primary and secondary .the research used questionnaire and interviews as the research instruments. Both open and closed ended questions were used to obtain data from the respondents. The sample size was of 15 respondents chosen tln·ough simple random sampling method hence giving every one a chance to be selected. The respondent comprised of employees and managers. The data was then analyzed using frequencies and percentiles as the statistical methods. The information was presented inform of tables. The findings obtained showed that the management skills are lacking due to declining performance, employees are not involved in decision making, no joint meeting hence very slow feedback and employee have no avenue to give some ideas to management hence poor employee relations. From the purpose of this study this research recommends that management of RCL put into serious consideration the findings of this study to ensure high performance in the organization. Management should embrace SHRP, involve employees in goal setting, integrate several management styles, have proper communication channels for faster feedback, give more incentives and try to incorporate employee's ideas. These recommendations will be of great use if put in consideration.
