dc.description.abstractThis paper discusses the legal reg1me governmg patentability of industrial products, and processes in Uganda. It examines the basic national legal regime in this, regard, identifies the strengths and weaknesses in each case and makes necessary conclusions and recommendations basing on the findings made. The research of the study is that taken as a whole, intellectual property law IS essential for technological development in any given economy. This study is also premised on the assumption that patentability of intellectual property in industrial products and processes increases technology in the economy and also widens the scope of persons employed in the manufacturing industry. The study also traces the development of the law of patents right from the early days of technological advancement in Europe up to the present day.en_US
