The general objective of the study was to dete1mine the causes of school drop out on girls in Hodhan zone, Wajir East District, Kenya and come up with possible strategies to solve the problem. In the collection of data, all sources viewed relevant to this particular study were revisited and employed. This study used a descriptive cross sectional survey. The research used both the qualitative and quantitative analysis approaches in order to get a bigger picture both in number and data. Since the main purpose of the study was to determine the factors that hindered girls' accessibility of education which was blamed more on socio-economic factors. Girls were found to perform as well as boys so performance does not contribute to girls dropping out of school., It was established that nutrition was very important to the growth and development of a child and that poor nutrition led to diseases hence poor school attendance leading to school dropout. It was recommended that both the parents and the community should be sensitized on the importance of proper and stable family background and how they influence child developmenten_US
