Abstract
The topic of the study was the effects of rewards on employee job satisfaction in Anyiddi Payam Jonglei State Southern Sudan; the problem was to have effective reward system in Anyiddi Payam Jonglei State Southern Sudan. The purpose of the study was to establish the relationship between rewards and employee job satisfaction in Anyiddi Payam Jonglei State Southern Sudan. The objectives of the study were; to find out the forms of rewards used in Anyiddi Payam Jonglei State Southern Sudan; to establish the effects of rewards on employee job satisfaction in Anyiddi Payam Jonglei State Southern Sudan ; and to establish ways of how to improve rewarding system in Anyiddi Pa yam Jonglei State Southern Sudan. The research used both quantitative and qualitative research designs. The findings of the study revealed that: there is use of both financial and non financial rewards although the former is mostly used; Reward had significant effects on employee job satisfaction and therefore, this hindered the attaimnent of the goals of Anyiddi Payam Jonglei State Southern Sudan. The study also discovered that there should be a sound reward system to improve the job satisfaction of its employees. In conclusion, there is use of both financial and non financial rewards in Anyiddi Pa yam Jonglei State Southern Sudan; It can also be concluded that rewards have both positive and negative effects on employee job satisfaction in Anyiddi Payam Jonglei State Southern Sudan; It can also be concluded that the ways of how to improve rewarding system in Anyiddi Payam Jonglei State Southern Sudan are through having equitable pay system, through conducting job evaluation, through effective communication, employee recognition among others. The study recommendations were; introduction of an equitable system of payment; the need to look at other factors that affect employee job satisfaction other than rewards such as employee welfare services like child care, restaurant facilities and others; among others.
