The objectives of the study were to find out the impacts of solid waste disposal in the environment. The methods used in sold waste displease, challenges faced and to come up with recommendations on effective solid waste disposal at kitezi landfill. Data was subjected to a number of stages that collectively added up to the whole process of data analysis, where results from observation and interviews were tested. The results indicated that garbage delivered at the site were not being monitored so as to determine what was disposed of at the landfill and there was no sorting of wastes such as polyether bags, the landfill produces many nuisances like oduur. Open burning of wastes should not be permitted; proper covering of wastes should be emphasized at the landfill.en_US
