dc.description.abstractThis study examined Decentralization and Staff Performance in Kaberamaido District, Local Government; with the general objectives being to establish how Decentralization has enhanced staff Performance in Kaberamaido district, specific objectives of the study were to identify extent to which Decentralization has enhanced personnel quality. To identify the extent to which decentralization has enhance personnel quantity, To identify the extent to which decec~ ~hvati. has enhance personnel effectiveness in Kaberaniaido district, to identify the extent u’ while decentralization has enhanced personnel accessibility. Using a quantitative survey research design, a target population of 100 respondents was sc. where the sample size of 90 respondents were interviewed using semi- structured questionnaires. The raw data from the field was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The study found that while most respondents were highly willing to participate in the decentralization policy through decision making, resource mobilization among others, they also suffered severe deprivation through illiteracy, ignorance, suppression, political influence. Decentralization has to improve on the performance of staff through job knowledge and skill improvement will be partially realized through short-term training cor some staff. Regular verbal and written performance feedback improved on quality of public administrators. Finally, respondents seemed to agree that Local Government programmes commensurate to the tasks they are required to perform and to satisfactorily reward their staff Continuous team building between politicians and Staff should be held to reduce frictions between the two factions that hinder Staff performance.en_US
