dc.description.abstractThis Research paper provides an over view on Social Responsibility of Bishop Cyprian High School located in Kyampisi sub county, Mukono District, in relation to socio-economic problems. It identifies potential explanations for Social Responsibility, evaluation of various forms of Social Responsibility, obstacles to school Social Responsibility, challenges of low social responsibility and proposed improvement program. Specifically, it is made up of five chapters. Chapter one is introductory, chapter two is literature review, chapter three concerns research methodology, chapter four is Data processing, analysis and interpretation while five is discussions, recommendations and conclusions. The objectives of this research were as follows; To evaluate the forms of social responsibility of Bishop Cyprian High School to all its stakeholders, to analyze the contribution of social responsibility towards eradication of socio-economic problems, to examine the obstacles deterring full social responsibility of schools and to determine the possible improvement program for social responsibility of Bishop Cyprian High School to the community. xiv The research design was majorly qualitative but quantitative data analysis techniques ware also used. The main technique of Data collection used was questionnaires, observation and photography. According to findings, this research has made it clear that social responsibility leads to reduction and solution of socio economic problems. Among others, it leads to risk reduction, staff retention, cost savings, cordial relationship with all stakeholders, reduction in moral decay, unemployment, ignorance, poverty. However, many schools fail to realize this because of obstacles like lack of enough resources and skills, limited awareness of stakeholders' demands, limited time, organization policy and other problems. Finally, recommendations include: initiating income generating projects for staff to supplement on salary, more care for government concerns, offer of more vocational education, high level of transparency of the school and accountability to its owners, among others.en_US
