Abstract
The purpose of the study was to examine the Challenges that inhibit indigenous companies from listing on the Uganda securities exchange. The study was guided with three objectives: To determine what the various indigenous companies know on listing requirements, to identify the perceived roles of indigenous companies in Uganda Stock Exchange, To examine how the companies perceive their involvement in the USE, To determine the conditions considered to affect listing in the USE. The researcher used descriptive design with both quantitative and qualitative. The findings showed Null hypotheses 1. External factors do not have an impact on listing of indigenous firms on the USE 2. Listing requirements do not hinder companies from being listed on USE 3. Fiscal and legal business environment do not have an impact on listing of companies on the USE 4. The level of awareness of the Capital Markets operations in Uganda does not influence listing of Ugandan indigenous companies. The conclusions and recommendations were made
