dc.description.abstractIn this study, the researcher studied training and the employee performance in Nation Link Somali of Bakara market branch. The study was guided by the following objectives; to determine the factors that affecting employee performance other than training, to establish relationship between training and employee performance and to identify the training methods used in Nation Link Telecom. The study design was descriptive case study and existing literature was used. Data was collected from both primary and secondary sources using questionnaires to collect primary data from a sample size of 39 respondents. Frequency and percentages, weighted mean and researcher were utilized to analyze data, The study revealed that the majority that makes up 36% of respondents in Nation Link has been working from three to five years’ experience. Based on from the findings, the study revealed the factors that have contributed to the level of performance of the staff other than training are management style and, lack of employee participation, climate and systems that the employee are operating, lack of motivation and competency of employee, and lack of proper communication. Basically, the grand mean of variables are 2.85 as independent variable and 2.95 as dependent variable which shows that as far the training was given to the staff, their performance will be high There is a significant positive relationship between training and employee performance indicated by r =0.834. Basically, there are two main training methods used in Nation Link in which are on-job training and off-job training. Based on the findings, the researcher recommended that the Nation Link should come up with good management style, employee participation and good environment that the employee can operate to improve the performance of the staff. On the relationship between training and employee performance, Nation Link Telecom should offer proper training programs to the appropriate employees of the company to be achieved. In the training methods used, Nation Link Telecom should emphasize off the job training method because the employees may acquire formal knowledge and skills about the job they are supposed to do in the organization.en_US
