dc.description.abstractThis study was conducted to assess the influence of teacher management skills on active participation of learners with mental retardation in inclusive classes in Gadumire Sub County, Kaliro District. It was guided by three research objectives; To find out the in nucn,r of technical management t skills on active participation of learners with mental retardation in inclusive classes, to establish Lhc innuence of conceptual management skills on active participation of learners with mental retardation in inclusive classes, and to determine the influence of interpersonal management skills on active participation of learners with mental retardation in inclusive classes. A structured selfadminsitered questionnaire was used to obtain data from 71 respondents, sackcloth using stratified, random sampling and purposive sampling techniques. Data for demographic characteristics was analyzed using frequencies and percentages while the influence of management skills was established using simultaneous regression analysis. The study established that technical management skills have a positive bearing on active participation of learners with mental retardation m inclusive classes. Further, conceptual management skills like prioritization of objectives, also have a posit ive bearing on active participation of learners with mental retardation. In addition, interpersonal management skills like use a variety of communication skills, enhances active participation of learners with mental retardation in inclusive classes.en_US
