Abstract
This study provides a comprehensive statistical analysis of the determinants of food security in Uganda from 1986 to 2022, focusing on trend changes, influential factors, model fit, and future predictions. Utilizing a descriptive research design and Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression, the study examines the relationships between food security and variables such as inflation, government agricultural expenditure, population growth, and climate change. Findings reveal a moderate positive correlation between food security and climate change, with climate change emerging as a statistically significant predictor. The result shows the model explaining approximately 21.3% of the variability in food security, indicating a moderate fit, further refinement is needed. The analysis highlights both achievements and ongoing challenges in Uganda's food security landscape and emphasizes the need for evidence-based policy interventions. The study also underscores the importance of a multidimensional approach for future food security forecasting, integrating scientific analysis with stakeholder engagement to ensure sustainable outcomes. Additionally, this research advocates for policies that prioritize climate adaptation measures and improved infrastructure in rural areas to enhance food distribution networks. It stresses the urgency of addressing inflationary pressures that affect food prices and access. Furthermore, continuous monitoring of population growth dynamics is recommended to align agricultural productivity with demographic trends
