Abstract
Human resources apart from other resources m an organization are the most valuable
resource for effective organizational performance. Organization either public or private is
highly depends on employee's performance and commitment towards achieving
organizational goals.
Employee's commitment 1s associated with employee's motivation at workplace and
depends highly on how management treats employees. The general objective of the study
was to find out the effect of motivation on employee performance at Global; lofty solutions
limited, in Kampala Uganda. A cross-sectional study design for quantitative and qualitative
analysis was used on 80 respondents that provided data. The data collected was both
quantitative and qualitative. Qualitative data is a categorical measurement expressed not in
terms of numbers, but rather by means of a natural language description. Quantitative data is
a numerical measurement expressed in terms of numbers . . Data collection methods like
interviews, questionnaires were employed. Analysis was done using Statistical Package for
Social Sciences (SPSS), these allowed the researcher to present the information in form of
tables and figures.
The study found out that the employee's ethical conduct had improved since the due to
different motivational strategies at Global lofty solutions. The researcher also found out that
motivation enhanced employee morale, increased efficiency and productivity and these led to
increased profits and growth of Global lofty solutions limited in Kampala Uganda. However
despite the level of motivation in terms of both financial and on-financial strategies, Global
lofty solutions faces a lot of challenges among which it needs a lot of money to implement
financial motivations like giving out allowances and bonuses. The researcher therefore
concluded that there are significant effects of motivation on employee performance therefore
Employees are essential to the everyday running of an organisation, and as proven in this
research, when correctly rewarded for the attainment of organisational goals employees
become motivated and increase their productivity and efficiency for the organisation. The
study recommended that the management must carry out the relevant research into what
motivates employees and then translate that knowledge to each individual employee and see
what motivates them to increase their motivation, engagement, productivity and efficiency in
the workplace.
