Abstract
This study entitled Stress Management and work output of teachers in selected
primary schools in Nyamira Division, Nyamira county, Kenya was conducted based
on four objectives namely: To determine the profile of respondents; to determine
the level of stress management strategies; to determine the level of primary schools
teachers’ work output in Nyamira Division , Nyamira county Kenya ; and to establish
the relationship between stress management strategies and teachers’ workout put in
Nyamira Division, Nyamira county Kenya . The study employed a descriptive survey
and descriptive correlation designs. A sample of 154 respondents (teachers and
head teachers) from ten selected primary schools was used. The findings of the
study were that majority of the respondents were male (59.3%). Majority were
married (72.0%) and majority possessed p.1 certificates. The level of stress
management strategies was fair with a grand mean of 2.31; and the level of
teachers work output was fair with a mean of 2.37. The relationship between stress
management and teachers work output was found out to be significant. It was
recommended that teachers in selected primary schools in Nyamira Division,
Nyamira county Kenya should upgrade their educational qualifications, and that
there is need for schools management to motivate teachers more for them to be
more productive.
