dc.description.abstractThis study was carried to find out the socioeconomic status of orphans and vulnerable children in academic performance in some selected schools in Siaya District. An effort was done to find the related literature to the study area guided by both the objectives and research questions. The findings in the study generally showed that there are some factors which affect the orphans and vulnerable children in their endeavor to perform at per with their peers. To assist in alleviating the problems, the respondents cited several areas of difficulty which need to be looked into. This includes material, social and psychological support. The study therefore recommends that due to many factors cited by the respondents, there should be effective partnership.en_US
