dc.description.abstractThis research determined the relationship between financial resource management and social infrastructure projects among UN Agencies and NGOS in Hargeisa, in Somaliland. As specific objectives, this study was set; to determine the profile of respondents; to determine the effectiveness of financial resource management among UN Agencies and NGOs in Hargeisa; to determine the effectiveness in implementation of social infrastructure projects among NGOS and UN Agencies; to compare if there is significant relationship between the two study variables. The researcher employed descriptive correlation design and used SLOVEN’s formula to determine a sample size of 200 from a target population of 400. Sampling was done using systematic random sampling technique. Information was obtained from respondents through self-administered questionnaires and validity and reliability of instruments was determined through content validity index and pretesting. The researcher followed all the ethical considerations of research. Data was analyzed in both qualitative and quantitatively using statistical techniques such as frequency, percentages, mean and correlation matrix as well as regression matrix. Findings indicated that the financial resource management in the selected NGOS and UN Agencies was generally effective; implementation of Social Infrastructure Projects was also found to be effective ; significant difference in level of effectiveness of financial resource management was noted and level of significance of .The study concluded that there is a positive significant relationship between financial resource management and implementation of social infrastructure projects. The study recommends that improvement in internal auditors’ independence; flow of cash management in different departments and evaluating accounting officers’ performance; incorporation of procedures for monitoring the performance and strategies.en_US
