dc.description.abstractThe research focused on the examined relationship between infant mortality and poverty in Isingiro district. Majority of the people according to the findings are aware of the existence of Infant mortality rate in Isingiro district. One of the major objectives of the study was to find out the causes of infant mortality rate in Isingiro district and the study revealed that; Teenage pregnancies have a higher risk of leading to infant mortality, but fortunately the proportion of teenage Among. The findings revealed on the marital status matters. Mother’s who are widowed, divorced or separated experience higher infant mortality than married mothers. It was noted that Isingiro district has one of the highest fertility rates in the world. This is unfortunate, because high fertility causes high infant mortality and vice versa. HIV/AIDS is exacerbates this vicious circle. Moreover, fertility rates in Isingiro district has increased by one child per mother are with no education. Poverty is also an important determinant of infant mortality - but it is not the only one! Income poverty fell substantially with exception of the Isingiro district. Research shows that Isingiro district has the lowest registered median birth interval in Uganda and this is an important cause of infant mortality. One out of four mothers have a birth interval lower than the critical months that are needed to recover.en_US
