The study intended to establish the relationship between Procurement contracts and compliance with procurement procedures among manufacturing industries in Uganda, a case of steel rolling mills in Jinja Municipality, Uganda This study was guided by three objectives; (i) To determine the extent of Procurement contracts. (ii) To determine the level of compliance with procurement procedures (iii) To establish whether there is a significant relationship Procurement contracts and compliance with procurement procedures among manufacturing industries in Uganda, a case of steel rolling mills in Jinja Municipality, Uganda. A descriptive conelational, cross-sectional and expost-facto design were used. Data analysis was done using frequencies, percentages, means, and Pearson linear conelation coefficiency (PLCC). A descriptive correlational, cross-sectional design was used. Data analysis was done using frequencies, percentages, means, and Pearson linear correlation co-efficiency. Data collection was mainly through questionnaires, interviews and document analysis. All aspects of Procurement contracts were found to be good for example assigning ownership contracts (mean=2.98), designing the structure of contracts (mean=2.90), reviewing contracts (mean=2.90), signing and filing of contracts (mean=2.87), ensuring records retention of contracts (mean=2.94) executing the contracts and ensuring support for the contracts (mean=2.92), and overall (mean=2.91). All aspects of compliance with procurement procedures among manufacturing industries were found to be good for example, compliance to regulatory requirements (mean=2.94), screening for product changes (mean=2.97), model changes (mean=3.07), product updates (mean=3.01), inspection and acceptance (mean=3.10), performance management (mean=2.87), accountability and value for money (mean=2.98) and overall (mean=2.98). results show that compliance with procurement procedures was significantly correlated with assigning ownership contracts (r=0.571, at sig=O. 000), Designing the structure of contracts (r=O. 491 at Sig=O. 000), reviewing contracts (r= 0.481, at Sig=O. 000), signing and filing of contracts (r=O .. 577, at Sig=O. 000), ensuring records retention of contracts (r= 0 .. 578, at Sig=O. 000), executing the contracts and ensuring support for the contracts (r= 0 . .498, at Sig=O. 000). It was recommended that; there is need top provide appropriate training and documentation; develop strategy, policy, procedures and systems; negotiate corporate purchasing agreements; review preferred vendors for performance, offer assistance with any purchase; offer high level discussions with suppliers regarding compliance with procurement procedures the following were suggested; furnishing essential facts in the event of a dispute ; supplier responses must also be submitted in writing with quoted prices, terms and conditions clearly documented in the response among others.en_US
