dc.description.abstract | The study set out to investigate the relationship between programmed self esteem and students academic performance in Kisumu District, Kenya. The specific objectives of the study were to investigate the level of self esteem among the learners, level of academic performance and finally the relationship between self esteem and academic performance in kisumu District. The study used a descriptive correlative survey research design. The sample size consisted of 204 students. The methods of data collection was self administered questionnaires. The findings revealed that self esteem has a significant effect on students achievement. The study recommended that the teachers can put all measures in place to improve learners’ self esteem. More teachers should be trained and sensitized on aspects that can help them improve the learners’ self esteem. Parents should be sensitized on the importance of participating in overseeing their children’s self esteem | en_US |
