dc.description.abstractThis study investigated the outcome of training needs assessment on employee training in private hospitals. The research based on three specified research objectives which were to asses the outcomes of training needs assessment on staff training at Mwananchi Hospital, to investigate the current training programmes at Mwananchi Hospital and to examine any improvement and performance of staff training. From the research, the problem of not conducting training needs assessment before selecting employees for training was realized. The researcher used secondary sources to get review of related literature relevant with training needs assessment before conducting employee training so as to make an effective training. The case study research design was used because it intensive analysis of the single case. Purposive and random samplings were used in this study. The sample size was 70 out of the population of 85 respondents. Data were gathered through interview and questionnaires, and were analyzed qualitatively and quantitavely. The findings indicated that majority of the respondents agreed that organizational analysis, personal analysis and task analysis before training are very important for effective training. The out comes of not conducting TNA at Mwananchi Hospital was revealed. The researcher concluded that there was no training needs assessment before conducting training at Mwananchi hospital. He recommended that Mwnanchi Hospital should conduct organizational analysis, personal analysis and task analysis before training to avoid unbiased training.en_US
