dc.description.abstractThe study was about study is to explore the causes and effects of domestic violence on Students performance/ the objectives were to identify various forms of domestic violence experienced by Students in to identify causes of domestic violence against Students in Kagadi District and to determine the effects of domestic violence on performance of students in Kagadi District The study found out that Domestic violence has far-reaching impacts to the victims/ which are physical, psychological, social and economic in nature. Physical injuries ranging from cuts/ bruises/ black eyes/ broken bones/ internal injuries and brain damage from any blow to the head can cause minor brain damage such as loss of memo~ difficulties in concentrating/ mood changes or can cause loss of sight or hearing. In the worst cases/ death may result or the victim may commit suicide. The study concluded that Domestic violence significantly and negatively influences student's school behavioural patterns due to the link between abuse and concurrent behavior of a student The aggressive and delinquent behaviours in affected children indicate the extent of problems suffered at home from direct child abuse by one or both parents or indirect abuse/ such as exposure to domestic violence. The study recommended that the girls and women themselves need to be sensitized and empowered in school clubs and Mother's Unions or in other gatherings. Establishment of a system where volunteers are equipped with women's rights and are able to advocate against SV. There is need to establish human rights centers/ bodies in the district where the community members can report - even the misdeeds of police since sometimes cases are mishandled because of corruption.en_US
