This research was about instructional materials and learners vacademic performance in selected primary schools of Ruteete Sub County, Kabarole district. The area of the study was Ruteete Sub County. The schools under this study were Kasiisi, Kigarama, Kiko, Kyanyawara and Gweri primary schools. The study subjects included primary seven pupils, teachers and Head teachers. The research hypothesis sought to establish the relationship between instructional material and learner's academic performance. The study revealed that there is a great attachment of instructional aids on performance. The availability and adequacy of instructional aids was uncertain and the image depicted indicate that a good number of schools have fewer instructional aids compared to the number of pupils in schools. The appropriate use of the available instructional aids was ascertained with doubts since teachers showed less eagerness to use the few resources that could not cater for the large size of the classes. It thus implied that teachers use self centered methods and ignored learner centered ones. This state impend learning and leads to poor performance. This perhaps explains why the performance of primary seven pupils in Ruteete Sub County is poor. The research concluded that performance in Ruteete need improvement through the following strategies like schools administration should buy relevant and adequate instructional materials/aids to facilitate effective teaching. Teachers should use the available instructional aids that allow variations in the teaching methods which promote better understanding of what is taught together with good performance.en_US
