The main purpose of this study was to determine and describe the relationship that exists between occupational safety and employee performance at KPRL - while being guided by a problem statement that says; Every 20 seconds of every working minute of every hour through the world; someone dies as a result of an industrial accident (Aswathappa, 2008) this was evidence to suggest that organizations have not achieved the required improvement for occupational safety in their working environments. Therefore, this triggered the researcher to go and assess the relationship between occupational safety and employee performance. The main objectives of this study were to determine the relationship between occupational safety and employee performance, to establish indicators of good safety facilities in the working environment in accordance to law and lastly to determine the costs avoided for having desirable working conditions in KPRL. In data collection process, the researcher employed instruments like closed questionnaires and a structured interview guide for primary data and extensive library research for secondary data which were all analyzed using Microsoft word, presented in tables and bar graphs. In as far as findings are concerned, the study found out that accidents had an effect on employees performance, hence occupational safety was a morale booster to performing well. The study further found out that safety outfit was used by employees when working, there were safety facilities in the working environment in accordance to law and KPRL had a safety policy. The study also revealed that there were arrangements for compensation in case of an accident, subsequently KPRL incurred costs in case of an accident. Thus, it can be recommended that KPRL should train its employees for them to be aware of the legislation and regulations of a safe and healthy workplace, the employer should accurately recruit and select so as to employ the right candidate to avoid unsafe acts in the work place and lastly KPRL should encourage participatory communicationen_US
