| dc.description.abstract | This research focused on the folktales of Banyankore who live in Mbarara District, Kashari County in the villages of Kateete, Ruhunga na Rwantsinga in Western Uganda. Folktales are important in the Banyankore culture about portraying vividly the image of feminist in Mbarara District. The main objective of this research will be explicity to portray divisionism of gender responsibilities and in particular the roles which empower women in social set up forexample, politically, in marriage and economically. At least ten folktales will be sourced from twenty three old people who will be sampled from the Banyankore community in the villages of Kateete, Ruhunga and Rwantsinga. The folktales were analyzed in order to determine how a woman is under looked in the society. Field research method will be used to collect data and twenty people were sampled for interview were expound on the meanings and use of folktales among the Banyankore culture. And all then folktales were taken up so as to get answers for questions. Thereafter, each individual folktale were scrutinized and analyzed as per its roles and image portrayed then a generalized conclusion shall be made over feminist in them. The findings of this research shed more light and knowledge about the image is portrayed by a woman and they led way to other researchers who may wish to do further research on feminism. | en_US |
