The purpose if the study was to find out whether the management skills development has a direct impact on staff performance in government and non government organizations. The cause for the concern ;vas that organizations both private and public have lost a lot of funds ,credit ability and this has liappened because of failure to follow the laid down organizational policies and requirements brought about by poor skills development. The filled in questionnaire registered these complaints, interviews and observation also helped the researcher to collect the necessary data. The data was mainly collected using questionnaire, interviews, observation and analyzed using correlation analysis. From the data analysis it was found out that there was a significant relationship between the variables. It was therefore concluded that this nature of management skills development initiative is fairly good but monitoring is not sufficient, there's also no proper segregation of duties. Consequently, it was recommended that extra efforts and emphasis should be put on proper segregation of duties for example; the duty of chief administration office should be separated from those of finance office, and most staff should be allocated more functions like internal audit to participate in supervision.
