This study was intended to examine the relationship between distribution channels and supply chain management with specific objectives of 1) To assess the relationship between outsourcing and supply chain management 2)To examine the relationship between distribution centers and supply chain management 3)To find out the relationship between warehousing and supply chain management. The study employed descriptive research design and researcher used structured questionnaire. A research population of 225 was identified and a sample size of 144 respondents was selected using the Slovene’s formula. In selecting the respondents the researcher used the simple random sampling technique. The study found that using a bivariate Pearson linear correlation analysis that outsourcing and supply chain management of Coca-Cola Company, Mogadishu, Somalia has a weak positive relationship with R of 0.365. Distribution centers and supply chain management have also a strong positive relationship with R of 0.62 8. The study also found that warehousing and supply chain management of Coca-Cola company in Mogadishu Somalia, has also strong positive relationship with R of 0.756. The researcher recommended that Coca-Cola company must consider outsourcing as an important factor on their supply chain, they also take into account that distribution center plays an important role in their supply chain and the company must aware that warehousing contributes the well being of their supply chain management. The study concluded and found that there is a relationship between distribution channels and supply chain management of Coca-Cola Company in Mogadishu- Somali.
- ItemEducation projects and the performance of selected primary schools in Mogadishu, Somalia(Kampala International University, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, 2011-06) Mohamed, Hassan MohamedAfter former government of Somalia throw out in 1991, all educational institutions have collapsed, due to lack of government, budget for education, salaries for teachers, and funds for rehabilitating schools in Somalia. International donors started to provide some limited support through United Nations agencies by financing many educational projects including primary school projects and their focus was almost entirely on the goals of improving enrolment and retention in primary schools. The crucial aspect of wastage in education system is dropout of pupils and this has caused problems to the individual life, parents, governments and the society. The main objective of the study was to examine education projects and the performance of selected primary schools in Mogadishu, specifically to identify the consequences of dropout to the community in funded schools, to explore causes of dropout and to recommend the possible ways of reducing the number of dropouts. The study employed a descriptive research design; data was collected from 76 respondents using questionnaires. Data were analyzed using Ms Excel application software and statistics to present findings. On the basis findings the following were emerged: early marriage, gender and perception of the value of education were identified as factor that affects dropout in primary schools. Also the study suggest the way forwards and possible ways of reducing of dropouts in selected funding primary schools in Somalia included student motivation, community involvement. The study recommends first that there is a need for sensitization of the pupils on the implication of early dating and marriage through parent discipline, Second there should be no gender differences; parents should bridge the gap of differential treatment among their children, third the two sexes should be given equal growth and development of potential that can cause them to became self-reliant to themselves and lastly In case of parents perception to the value of education, the key concepts here include awareness, campaigns, parental education and parent participation in the structure and the management of the schools.
