    The effects of training on employee turnover: a case study of united bank for Africa Uganda limited, Kansanga branch:

    This study was carried out at United Bank for Africa Uganda limited, Kansanga branch. The study was based on the effect of training on employee turnover in organizations. The objectives of the study were to identify the training techniques used, to determine the causes of employee turnover and to assess the effect of training on employee turnover in united Bank for Africa Limited~ A Sample of 40 respondents was selected for the study purpose and the data was collected using stratified random sampling technique together with purposive sampling which helped me to select the respondent of different categories. Basing on the research findings, I concluded that Poor training, Poor recruitment and selection procedures, Employee redundancy, Influence of external employee market, Low salary and wages, dismissal due to poor performance, Employee retirement, Poor health and safety practices, Bank downsizing strategy and Staff resignation and dishonest were the causes of employee turnover in united bank for Africa limited. However, I concluded that Training and career development inspires staff, Makes staff perform effectively, Equips staff members with product knowledge, Informs staff of the consequences of dishonesty and Equips staff members with customer care and marketing skills were all the effects of training on employee turnover in united bank for Africa Limited and I also concluded that Job instruction technique, Induction technique, Delegation of duties, Demonstration technique, Conference training and social simulation techniques were the employee training techniques used by united Bank for Africa Limited. It was recommended that the management of united bank for Africa should motivate all the employees in form of appraising their performance and giving them other benefits to enable them perform towards achieving the set goals and objectives and the top management of united bank for Africa should be willing to extend overwhelming support to all the departments such as accounting and auditing to ensure good financial performance. It was found out that the contribution of job training to united bank for Africa Uganda; the different ways of minimizing employee turnover in the financial institutions and the impact of employee turnover on the performance of financial institutions were the areas for further studies.
