Abstract
The purpose of the study was to examine the effects of drug abuse among students in the selected secondary schools in Kaliro Town Council, Kaliro District and this was achieved through the three research objectives and these included the following; To examine the causes of drug abuse among the students in the selected secondary schools in Kaliro Town Council, Kaliro District, To examine the effects of drug abuse among students in the selected secondary schools in Kaliro Town Council, Kaliro District, to identify the intervention measures to control and prevent drug abuse among students in the selected secondary schools in Kaliro Town Council, Kaliro District. The researcher employed some discussions from the different authors, publications, magazines and all the other possible sources as the basic foundation of the research. The researcher employed the simple random sampling technique during the research when she selected the sample size of the research and here she employed both the qualitative and the quantitative method of data collection. The findings indicated that the majority of the respondents were males with the percentage of 80% and 20% for the females, it also showed that the sample size had the majority of the respondents with age bracket of 25 to 29 years and of course the students over weighing the teachers and social workers since the target population was the students with the percentage of 80% and 20% for the teachers and social workers.
