Abstract
The study was carried out in Wakiso, considering Kitoro in division B Entebbe municipality. Main purpose of the study was to identify marriage breakdown as an outstanding challenges in families in Wakiso. The researcher also wanted to know more about the view of the public on marriage breakdown which has been rampant today especially due to unemployment and poverty very many families have broken down. For example when Uganda airlines was closed very many families in Entebbe broke up because of unemployment. Of such reasons that the researcher had to go and identify the nature of marriage breakdown and its challenges in Entebbe, an assessment was made so as to come up with measures to help in marriage breakdown in Entebbe such as to educating the public about the exciting legal frame works regarding the prevention and reduction of marriage breakdown in Entebbe. The study also considered using both qualitative. Data was collected through personal interviews using a structured questionnaire which include 76 respondents who help in providing the primary data, in depth interviews were held with parents who have faced the problem of marriage breakdown in Entebbe municipality. Questionnaires administered to respondents were verified edited and coded, Row frequencies were generated to produced descriptive data. However, because of limited time the researcher was not able to use a bigger sample size, it's therefore recommended that future researcher should use a larger sample size so as to come up with a better analysis of impact of marriage breakdown in Entebbe. There are still some weaknesses in enforcement of laws corning marriage breakdowns therefore there is need to strengthen the legislation framework Entebbe municipality that will help in dealing in marriage breakdown cases.
