Abstract: The purpose of this research is to find out the nature of agriculture modernization on rural transformation in lira district particularly in lira Sub County, to find out the role of agriculture modernization in rural transformation in lira Sub County, also to identify people’s perception on agricultural modernization and rural transformation. The research questions were the research was aimed at addressing the research questions which included the following. What is the nature of agriculture in lira district? What are the people’s perceptions on agricultural modernization and rural transformation? What are the problems faced in agricultural modernization and rural transformation in lira district? the scope of the study this study was restricted to lira district in particular lira sub county due to its self as a district being big it can make it quite hard to conduct the research in whole district due to financial constraints, therefore, the researcher designed to cover the geographical area of one sub county which is lira
