Abstract
The topic titled inventory management techniques and organization performance, a case study of nice house of plastics was done under the objectives including; to find out the relationship between vendor management practices and performance ofNice House ofPlastics, to find out the relationship between Just in time and performance of Nice House of Plastics and to find out the relationship between Material Requirement Planning and performance of Nice House of Plastics. The researcher used a descriptive correlational survey research design where by both quantitative and qualitative approaches in data collection were used. The researcher used Slovene’s Formula to come up with appropriate sample size to be used in the study and sample size of 50 respondents was selected to participate in the study. The researcher used the questionnaire which helped her in collecting data. The researcher’s findings were that since the value labeled Sig. which is the p-value ofthe Pearson Correlation is less than .05 which is the alpha level associated with a 95% confidence level; there is a significant relationship between technical capabilities and project management at Nice House of Plastics, Industrial Area thus an effect between the variables which are vendor management practices and performance. The variables are not independent of each other and that there is a statistical relationship between the categorical variable thus vendor management practices have effect on the performance ofNice House of Plastics, Industrial Area (r = .814*, p<.Ol). The finding again showed the value labeled Sig. which is the p-value of the Pearson Correlation is less than .05 which is the alpha level associated with a 95% confidence level demonstrating that there is a significant relationship between Just in time and performance of Nice House of Plastics thus an effect between the variables which are Just in time and performance ofNice House of Plastics (r = .941*, p<.Ol). The also showed that the PLCC (r) 0.3 11 value exceeds the critical PLCC (r) value of 0.087. Thus at 0.05 significance level, ifthere was an alternative hypothesis, it would be accepted while the null hypotheses rejected thi~is a significant relationship between the variables. The researcher’s conclusion was that vendor management practices has effect on the performance of Nice House of Plastics, Industrial Area (r = .814*, p<.Ol), the variables are not independent of each other and that there is a statistical relationship between the categorical variables. The results show that Just in time has effect on the and performance of Nice House of Plastics (r = .941*, p<.Ol) and that that without Material Requirement Planning, performance ofNice House of Plastics would not be effective at Nice House of Plastics thus a significant. The researcher’s recommendations were that inventory managers of manufacturing firms in Uganda should focus on improving firm size and growth levels. As growth is negatively related to firm performance variables such as profitability and operating cash flow, this will enable firms to stand the test of time and be able to withstand mitigating circumstances that may impair growth and associated economies of scale and the government should provide incentives for research and development to research scientists who would continue to invest their time and skills in discovering more plastic innovations. It is recommended that the government also pursues a strategy to provide incentives for plastic ideas from more developed economies in order to promote the adoption of world class production.
