Abstract
At the moment rapid product development has become a competitive tool most companies are using to overcome the competition in today’s ferociously competitive marketing environment. The purpose of this study was to establish the extent to which Uganda telecom Limited (UTL) has adopted the rapid product development strategy to out compete the competition in the Telecommunication industry. This was done by investigating the product development strategies UTL utilized. The case study method was used to collect both quantitative and qualitative data. The interview method was used to collect data from UTL’s head office situated at Rwenzori Court Plot 2 and 4A, Kampala. The findings revealed that UTL had adopted a rapid Product Development Strategy (PDS). It is therefore recommended that the company continue enhancing and improving its products in line with this strategy.
