| dc.description.abstract | This project report is about an online registration system for St Lawrence Citizens’ High School used as a case study. After students acquire admission from the headquarters, they then proceed for registration at their respective campuses or colleges. The school was making the registration at its respective campuses and colleges then records would be transferred to the headquarters and this had numerous shortfalls most important being lack of security in storing files, loss of vital information and tiresome for data entrants. The project report was a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. The researcher employed interviews, questionnaires and review of documents as methods of data collection. The challenge was to automate complaints to overcome short falls. MySQL/PHP, XAMPP (apache friends) and Macromedia Studio MX: a professional web development package containing Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks, tool-for web pages coding and graphic design were used as programming languages and the system was confirmed to run on the Windows XP operating system. An online student registration system was considered to achieve most objectives especially making it easy to input, process, store, monitor and retrieve information about student registration. The project report was organized in to five chapters; chapter one has main ideas about the project report, chapter two consists of the literature reviews from other sources, chapter three consists of the methodology, chapter four consists of the analysis, design and requirement specification and chapter five consists of the recommendations. The project report also has references at the end in case of further research about the topic. | en_US |
