dc.description.abstractThe researcher in this research attempted to investigate the impact of poor nutrition among children below five years as case study of Muhinda village in Kasulu district. The researcher found that most children in the village were very malnourished with stunted growth and infant mortality rates were very high following the problem of poor nutrition. Among the diagnosed cases were underweight according to their age and associated with conditions including Kwashiorkor, Marasmus, and Marasmic-kwashiorkor. The researcher found that poor nutrition was a serious problem in the village not only in developing nations but also in the developed ones in which individuals, families and communities are faced with. Among the contributive factors being poverty, large families, hunger, illiteracy and lack of knowledge on nutrition matters. The researcher used different categories of respondents to rule out the impact of poor nutrition in relation to its causes including medical personnel's, parents in relation to village leaders. In rega1·ds to the study, the researcher used both quantitative and qualitative techniques to collect data. In conclusion, according to the impact of poor nutrition as the researcher noted, she strongly recommended that there is need to allocate supplemental feeding programs to affected children with malnutrition to enl1ance their heath. Also there is a need to sensitize the community on fan1ily planning so that people to have reasonable number of children in order to reduce the burden of upbringing them .Finally the govefillllent need to collaborate with individuals so that to improve in agriculture and increase food production both for consumption and reserving for the future.en_US
