Abstract
The topic of the study was teamwork and employee performance in Punt land State University in
Somalia, the problem was failure to encourage teamwork among the employees, students and the
lecturers of Punt land State University in Somalia for better performance;
The purpose of the study was to establish the effects of teamwork on performance of punt land
state university in Somalia
The objectives of the study were; to finding the types of teamwork in punt land state university
in Somalia, to establish the factors for team work effectiveness in Puntland state university in
Somalia; to establish the ways of how to improve teamwork performance in punt land state
university in Somalia
The research used both qualitative and quantitative research designs.
The findings of the study indicates the following
The types of teamwork in Punt land State University in Somalia are self managed teamwork,
quality circles, virtual teamwork and project teamwork.
Factors for teamwork effectiveness are teamwork size, the tasks of the teamwork, the roles of the
teamwork and teamwork leadership.
Teamwork has a significant impact on the performance of the employees' students and lecturers
in punt land States University in Somalia
The conclusion of the study was that; the various types of teamwork in Punt land State
University in Somalia are self managed teamwork, quality circles, project teamwork and virtual
teamwork; the factors for teamwork effectiveness were; teamwork size, the roles of the
teamwork, the task of the teamwork members and teamwork leadership; to improve teamwork
performance, there should be effective leadership of the teamwork, good interpersonal skills,
motivation of teamwork members, information sharing and shared pride in the achieved goals of
the teamwork.
The recommendations of the study were;
Punt land State University should improve on the communication levels so as to improve the
performance of the teamwork; also through having effective leadership; through shared pride in
the goals achieved and through good interpersonal skills.
