dc.description.abstractThe study was carried out to investigate the relationship between cultural beliefs and women participation in community development in selected Non-Governmental Organizations in Mogadishu- Somalia. The study was guided by the following research objectives; the first objective was to determine the profile of the respondents in terms of: gender, Age, Marital status, educational qualification, and Groups: Local NGO’s ad International NGO’s, position in the organizations and number of years in present position and the second and third objective was to determine the level of cultural beliefs and women participation in community development and the fourth objective was the relationship between cultural beliefs and women participation in community development progress in selected Non-Governmental organizations in Mogadishu-Somalia. The study was conducted through descriptive survey and correlation research design by using qualitative approach with three parts questionnaire and 100 respondents was selected from Non-Governmental organizations in Mogadishu- Somalia. The study utilized descriptive statistics, frequencies, and percentage; tables were used in the presentation of data. And also Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient was applied to test correlation between cultural beliefs and women participation in community development. The researcher found that the cultural beliefs and women participation in community in selected Non-Governmental Organizations Mogadishu- Somalia are significantly correlated. Regarding the level of cultural beliefs was no doubt and women participation in community development was some doubt with methods applied as indicated the means and standard deviations. The researcher recommended that the organizations should maintain frankness, faithfulness and honesty whenever they deal with the subordinates or groups or made community development. And also discussion should use the best possible women participation in community development as the result of the studyen_US
