and employee work performance using a case study of public sector
organizations in Hergaisa. The study specifically sought to determine
the demographic profile of the employees in Hargaisa; determine the
extent to which managers delegate authority, determine the level of
employee performance and to determine the relationship between
delegation of authority and employee performance. Data was collected
from a cross section of 108 respondents from public service
organizations. The study found that to a somewhat great extent, the
managers in the public sector organizations delegate authority. Results
of the study further indicate that to a great extent employee
performance is high. The study found a positive significant relationship
between delegation of authority and employee performance. The study
concludes that greater delegation of authority leads to greater
employee performance. The study recommends that managers
delegate authority in order to improve employee performance.
