Abstract
This report is a result of an academic research entitled ‘Gender Equality on
soclo-economic development in Rubavu district”. It further looks at their
involvement in their participation in socio-economic development process. The
main purpose of this study was to find out the effort which gender equality have
contributed to soclo-economic development in Rubavu district
The study was guided by the three research questions. (I) Whet is the level of
gender equality in Rubavu district? (ii) Does the value of gender equality
promoted in Rubavu district can lead to socio-economic development? (iii) Who
are the major financers of gender support in Rubavu district? A sample of 120 of
respondents of selected from different officials’ representatives in Rubavu
district was selected from a target population of 173 total population.
Participants were selected through a purposive random sampling process. A
questionnaire addressed to respondents was constructed to gain more
information to the subject. SPSS was used to analyze all data. The data were
processed using frequency distribution, interpretation. It was discovered that
through gender equality in Rubavu district has been make a positive change in
social, socio-economic, socio-political and socio-cultural. The study concludes
that gender equality has a profound influence on the education, health care
services and economic status, decision making power, and discovered that there
is a significance positive development. A general conclusion was drawn based
on the general research work, recommendations made given in order to have a
common understanding about research.
