| dc.description.abstract | The aim of this projectwas to design and develop an Online Crime and Accident data Capturing, Storing and Reporting system. The existing System was found to be completely manual, faced with numerous problems like duplication, loss of records and time consuming. An Investigation was carried out to establish how the existing system functions and what Its problems were. To help in this Investigation, interviews and Questionnaires were used In data collection. In designing the web-based system, the study defines the architecture, components, Interfaces and data for the system to satisfy specified requirements. The system design was done in three phases. Conceptual, logical and physical design.An online czime and accident data capturing, storing and reporting system was designed using tools like MySQL for the database, PHP embedded In html for the web-pages and Joomla as the Content Management System (CMS). This system is fast, convenient in terms of storage and it is user friendly. This webbased system was therefore recommended for the police Force of Uganda | en_US |
